10 Best Blog Post I’ve Read And Why

I don’t read many blogs.

In fact I hardly read any blogs at all.

This list is gonna be heavy on James Altucher because I have read more of his posts than any other blog online.

10 Reasons Why You Have to Quit Your Job This Year via James Altucher

I think this is the first post by James I ever read. Well it was on another website, but the content was the same. 10 Reasons Why You Have to Quit Your Job This Year resonated with me deeply. And started me on this journey that you are following every day via my blog.

B The end of geography via Seth Godin

I wrote about this idea also in my blog: EMPTY ROOM THEORY: MIND GAMES.

All places are the same.

What is the difference between a prison, a national park, a school, or city? The several geography classes I took would tell you about place as something like: “a particular position or point in space”. Sure. Or location which “generally implies a higher degree of certainty than place”.

It’s really all about your mind set.

And Seth’s blog will have you apply this concept to your business.

How to Self-Publish a Bestseller: Publishing 3.0 via James Altucher

This guided me in my process on my book Conspire To Inspire. I have a long way to go to get to the 3.0 part, but the bones are there and now I am building all of the rest.

I have wanted to write a book for a long time. And then one day it happened.

Thanks James for showing me the way!

Life is Like a Game. Here’s How You Master ANY Game via James Altucher

This one time I tried to get good at chess. But it is hard. My brother, who is not an expert at it, beat me in four moves once. I suck. And so I gave up.

I have been successful at some games. Like Apples to Apples and Bananagrams. Maybe it is because of the food title connection and my love of eating?

But your friends and family don’t like you very much if you always win. So I don’t always try to.

I’d rather be loved than a winner.

James post on this topic is great too by the way. He really knows what he is talking about.

TIME TO QUIT via James Altucher

I hope more people find this and practice it.

Too many people get caught up in persistence when it would be better to drop it.

I spent four years trying to get a job I am not sure I wanted anyways, just because the “sunk cost” of time and money from college. I am not free of the other job I ended up at (yet), but am in the process of choosing myself.

Thanks to James Altucher.

“Here’s the Rule: born, school for 12 years, college, grad school, job, sowing oats, marriage, kids, promotions, luxuries, retirement, death.

Here’s the Fact: the Rule never happens.”

Rethink life and its possibilities. Nothing you choose has to be your life forever.

The Ultimate Cheat Sheet to Become a Great Negotiator via James Altucher

“A bad negotiation leads to these things automatically: anger, resentment, crying, slavery, and poverty.”

I’ve never really negotiated anything for business.

But life is a constant negotiation.

When I do need to negotiate I am for sure use these techniques.

The enemy of creativity… via Seth Godin

Seth’s super short blogs hit straight at the heart of the matter. I have felt my creativity stifled for most of my life, which had been spent in fear…
