The Power of Sharing

Is relating to others like pulling-teeth for you?

Let me make it easy…

Day 84 of Claudia’s book Become An Idea Machine.

List 10 thins I’ve learned, gained, re-directed, or thought deeply about because I have been working on my idea muscle this long.

1 I have unlocked my suppressed creativity and am not afraid to explore where it takes me.

2 I have come to find the need to learn copywriting.

3 I have learned that I need to find a niche and learn about one topic to write about to be successful in monetizing my content.

4 I have learned to be persistent and not to give up when I don’t feel like going forward.

5 I have learned that I want more for my life than I had in the past and want to work at getting there in the future.

6 I have reawakened my desire for travel and realized that I want to have a location-independent career in the future.

7 I realized I have a tendency to take on too much if I don’t watch myself and be careful with my time.

8 I found out who I know personally who likes to read my blog (and who doesn’t).

9 I hope I have developed in my ability to entertain and amuse people through my stories, but know I have been lacking in them as of late because of number 7.

10 Sharing publicly my ideas everyday is a bigger task than I originally thought, reminding me of the lesson from The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason that goes like this:

“”Will power!” retorted Arkad. “What nonsense. Do you think will power gives a man the strength to lift a burden the camel cannot carry, or to draw a load the oxen cannot budge? Will power is but the unflinching purpose to carry a task you set for yourself to fulfillment. If I set for myself a task, be it ever so trifling, I shall see it through. How else shall I have confidence in myself to do important things? Should I say to myself, ‘For a hundred days as I walk across the bridge into the city, I will pick
from the road a pebble and cast it into the stream,’ I would do it. If on the seventh day I passed by without remembering, I would not say to myself, Tomorrow I will cast two pebbles which will do as well.’ Instead, I would retrace my steps and cast the pebble. Nor on the twentieth day would I say to myself, ‘Arkad, this is useless. What does it avail you to cast a pebble every day? Throw in a handful and be done with it.’ No, I would not say that nor do it. When I set a task for myself, I complete it. Therefore, I am careful not to start difficult and impractical tasks, because I love leisure.” ”

I do love leisure.

However I think I need to become an idea machine so I can enjoy more of it in the future.
