I died yesterday.
Well my streak did at least.
But that is okay because I am ok with it.
But we are going to ignore that.
And here is why…
I want to live to be at least 100 years old. I have more than enough time to come up with great ideas. Also I am mostly ok with it and going to ignore the count of days for this reason: I don’t like the way of thinking of “being behind”.
I know people who having thinking patterns that they are “behind”. Whatever that means… Behind what? Behind the curve? Behind the deadline? Behind where you think you should be? Maybe you are really “behind” on something like your bills.
I don’t know.
What I do know is why would you want to be “behind” when you can just not be anything.
Stop thinking you are “behind” because that does not help anything. It probably does not help you “catch up” which I’ll address in a minute. And if thinking in that way just lets you wallow in self-pity then you are not helping yourself by it and not feeling better about not doing what you need to do.
In order to not be “behind” some people are always trying to “catch up” or “get ahead”. Again catch up to what? The Joneses? Get ahead of what? Yourself? And for what? To feel better about yourself? To be self-righteous? Or to have a smugness when you see others that are “behind”?
Or are you getting ahead on bills? Paying a month ahead, but every month you pay a month ahead, so what difference does that make? That you could not pay one month if you wanted? I guess that would be nice, but you are still making monthly payments…
Sometimes I wonder why do something when I could do nothing?
